On-line Chamber Newsletter A Success...
We are pleased with the success of our on-line newsletter by the comments we received and the number of times many of you went back to read it.
...Chamber Survey Response Requested.
Now that we believe we have a captive audience we are including a questionnaire that we ask you take some time to review and fill out for us.

Please make sure you have the updated version of Acrobat Reader Version 9.3 - it a free download and a link is provided in the left sidebar.
Those of you who use POP mail can open the document in Acrobat Reader and fill in the blanks, then click on the submit button and send back to the Chamber.
Those using any type of web mail, such as Yahoo mail; Gmail; Hotmail and many others, will need to do one of two things.
1. Save the document to your desktop (or wherever you prefer), open it in Acrobat Reader and fill it in; re-save it and then attach the newly saved copy to an email back to the Chamber.
2. OR: Save the document to your desktop, open it in Acrobat Reader, print it out and then mail via USPS to the Chamber office.
From time to time the chamber steps back and re-assesses the benefits we provide our membership to make sure we are appropriately meeting your needs. We ask that you help us in providing you with an efficient Chamber best serving the needs of the business community.

Our Diamond Ranked Restaurants

Restaurants and other eating places serve residents and visitors. These business establishments are an important part of our local economy.
American Automobile Association each year ranks a few of our eating places in a system of one to five diamonds. Five diamonds go to the most outstanding establishments.
Here are some results of the latest ranking. |

AAA published ranks of 18 restaurants in the Santa Ynez Valley for 2010. Other eating places included restaurants, fast food establishments, coffee houses, bakeries, and some delicatessens. Bars and tasting rooms served everything from full meals in some hotel bars to snacks in many wine tasting rooms.
Solvang included six ranked restaurants, of which two were one diamond, two were two diamond, one was three diamond, and one was four diamond. Buellton had five two diamond restaurants. Los Olivos offered one two diamond restaurant and three three diamond restuarants Santa Ynez had three ranked restaurants, of which two were three diamond and one was four diamond.
AAA listed a four diamond restaurant in Ballard with other restaurants having a Solvang postal address. The four diamond restaurant in Santa Ynez was on the Chumash reservation.
The nearest five diamond eating place was on the south coast of Santa Barbara County.
Ranked restaurants and other eating and drinking places in Santa Barbara County together produced an estimated $686,700,000 during 2008. That was 12% of all taxable sales. Food stores produced an estimated $315,600,000 or 5% of all taxable sales.
