Governor closes Bar and Restaurants over 4th of July

The Governor announced today the following that will impact County of Santa Barbara:

 

  1. The following businesses will be required to shut down unless they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up. No indoor services.(Restrooms inside can remain available but with strict social distancing and face coverings). The closures will apply for a minimum of three weeks and are subject to an extension based on epidemiologic indicators. 
  • Restaurants
  • Wineries and tasting rooms
  • Movie theaters 
  • Family entertainment centers (for examples: bowling alleys, miniature golf, batting cages and arcades)
  • Zoos and museums
  • Cardrooms

Reminder:  The County’s SBCPEP Public Right-of-way and Private Property expansion programs are available for those in unincorporated areas https://recoverysbc.org/sbcpep/. Many of the cities are also offering the same type of consideration.

 

  1. Brewpubs, breweries, bars, pubs and lounges are closed to all operations.  Hard close; serving food no longer an alternative provided.

 

  1. State Beaches Parking Lots Closed

 

  1. Strong recommendation to cancel local firework shows

 

  1. State establishing Enforcement Strike Team (ABC, CalOSHA, Dept of Business Oversight, Dept of Consumer Affairs, CHP) to work with local Public Health Department and Businesses.
