National Summit on Equality of Opportunity.

Jul 09, 2020

National Summit on Equality of Opportunity.  Across the past weeks, the Chamber team has worked to collect your comments, distill the insights of our speakers, and continue our own policy research to deliver the initial Equality of Opportunity Agenda.

The Agenda proposes data-driven public policy and private sector solutions to help close the opportunity gaps for Black Americans and people of color. We call for immediate, bold policy actions and private sector solutions to help close race-based opportunity gaps in four critical areas: education, employment, entrepreneurship, and criminal justice. As discussed during the Summit, each of these areas perpetuate broader inequalities in our society, hold back individual and business success, and  hinder economic growth. The Chamber will also consider additional actions to take over the course of this long-term initiative.

We hope you will find value in this Agenda, and that you will join us in amplifying this work through your professional and social networks. For your convenience, the Chamber has developed assets, including social copy and imagery, which can be found in our Equality of Opportunity Toolkit.

We will continue to work with our members, partners, and stakeholders across the country to promote these private sector solutions, and we are committed to reaffirming the American promise of opportunity for all. We look forward to your continued partnership and support in this work, and welcome your ideas and comments.
