Summary:
Presentations will be made by the Vandenberg Airforce Base leadership and REACH on the curren projects underway and opportunities for economic vitality in the Central Coast Region that includes the County of Santa Barbara.

D3) Hearing - Urgency Ordinance to Adopt Additional Remedies for Violations of County Health Officer Orders Pertaining to COVID-19

(Est. Time 30 MIN.)

 

Summary:
This Urgency Ordinance would provide peace officers and other public officers designated by the Director of Emergency Services with a tool to enforce County Health Officer Orders aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus. It provides additional enforcement mechanisms to deter violations of County Health Orders, through either infraction citations or administrative fines. The intent of the ordinance is to deal with those particularly egregious situations where education and persuasion is deemed ineffective in slowing the virus.

D4) Hearing - KPMG Departmental Review of the Planning and Development Department

Summary:

The review of the Planning & Development Department is the fourth County department review conducted by KPMG. The purpose of the review is to identify areas where improvement in service delivery, efficiency and effectiveness is possible. KPMG’s review includes a report titled “Improving Performance to Better Serve our County Residents: County-wide Operational Performance Review – Planning & Development." Other related items with the agenda include the Executive Summary and the department’s response and implementation timeline.

D5) Hearing - Commission for Women; 2020 Women’s History Month Service Awards

Summary:

In honor of National Women’s History Month and to recognize, honor and celebrate the achievement of countless women who strive to serve throughout the community and advocate for other women, the County of Santa Barbara Commission for Women established the annual Women’s History Month Service Awards. One organization and one individual from each Supervisorial District will be honored.
