Empty Bowls

Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 05:00 PM — 05:00 PM

In the Santa Ynez Valley and Los Alamos, People Helping People (PHP) provides food every other week to over 1,700 low-income men, women and children. Today, nearly 50% of our children in our local primary schools receive free or reduced cost lunch due to their low family incomes and need. In order to continue to help the increasing numbers in the Valley who need food, PHP annually coordinates “Empty Bowls” in recognition of “World Food Day”. Our Valley’s primary contribution to “Empty Bowls” campaign and recognition of World Food Day has been through participation of business owners in a day to donate a portion of their sales to PHP’s local Food Program. We are asking you to consider joining your colleagues in honoring World Food Day by sponsoring “Empty Bowls” event at your establishment on Thursday, October 17, 2013. For more information including participating restaurants visit www.syvphp.org/events/empty-bowls.
