Americans Say Social Media Have Little Sway on Purchases

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A clear majority of Americans say social media have no effect at all on their purchasing decisions. Although many companies run aggressive marketing campaigns on social media, 62% in the U.S. say Facebook and Twitter, among other sites, do not have any influence on their decisions to purchase products.

Split Roll Bill Dies in Assembly Committee

California Senate votes to raise minimum wage to $13 an hour in 2017

This past Thursday, the state Senate approved a measure that would gradually raise the minimum wage in California from the current $8 an hour to $13 in 2017, despite warnings from the California Chamber of Commerce that the bill is a "job killer."
